BOOK REVIEW: Eros & Thanatos edited by Cassandra L. Thompson and Damon Barret Roe
EROS & THANATOS is a gorgeous collection of absolutely beautiful, heartfelt (and sometimes heartbreaking) work by incredible talented writers. The themes of love and death are strong throughout, tying each piece together. The mix of traditional and modern gothic settings was quite refreshing, and many of the stories took bold steps in blending and playing with different genres to tell deeply emotional stories of love and loss.
The entire anthology absolutely shines, but a few of my favorite stories were:
Inbetwixt by Dan Dolan
Blood, Apples, Blackberry Wine by Ashley Van Elswyk
Bared Bones by Maddie Bowen-Smith
Caulston by Perry Wolfecastle
Overall, a phenomenal collection great for both lovers of gothic horror and those who want to give the genre a try. Thank you to Quill & Crow Publishing House for the digital ARC. This anthology is now available for purchase, and you should most definitely add it to your shelf!
